Upcycled Jacket (Lined) - Fashion Design II Major Assignment (March 2023)

Description:

• The theme for this upcycled jacket is The Grand Budapest Hotel. The colour palette is drawn from the pink box tied with a blue ribbon

• I purchased the fabric from Value Village and the lining, tulle, chains, and buttons from King Textiles

• The curtain's fabric content is 57% cotton and 43% polyester. The curtain had interfacing in the hem which I used to make the welt pocket

Upcycled Straight Sleeveless Top & Wide Leg Organza Pant with Fitted Lining (2023)

Description:

• The upcycled top was made from a polyester curtain I thrifted from my local Value Village

• The curtain was torn when I found it. I thought that this curtain wouldn't sell, so I bought it and granted it a new life as a blouse

• There are metallic yarns woven into the fabric of the organza. This quality complements the silver top

White T-shirt Dress Top-stitched Pleats (2023)

Description:

• This dress was made from deadstock fabric. It is an artificial fibre

• This dress's pattern contains 11 panels

• I pleated sections of the front and back panels to create this asymmetric pattern, then I topstitched the pleats in place. The topstitching appears like twin-needle stitching

Tunic Assignment for Fashion Design I (2022)

Description:

• This is a tunic project I completed in my first-year fashion design class

• The assignment required me first to draft a pattern and then make my adjustments

• I made a muslin prototype/toile first before sewing the final tunic

• I selected a print organza and solid colour woven fabric

Three Tier Linen Dress (2022)

Description:

• This dress is made from natural cotton

• I selected this fabric because attracted to the elegance of the green dye, and it was an appropriate material for the season; summer

• The bodice front and back of this dress are lined with the same fabric 

• The bodice separates from the skirt at the back, which creates a bra-like look

• This dress includes invisible pockets on the sides

Snake Skin Drawstring Dress (2021)

Description:

• Though this dress has a simple design, the effect of the drawstring elevates the look of this garment

Knee Length Circle Skirt Dress (2021)

Description:

• This was a spring dress I designed for my client

• I lined the bodice front and back with the same top fabric

• I inserted darts into the waistline of the skirt so that the skirt's drape would rest complimentary to the model's figure

• There is a subtle cowl neck toward the bust

Maxi Spaghetti Strap Summer Dress - Two Variations (2021)

Description:

• The blue and pink dress was made with a halter neckline and crosses in the back

• The white and yellow dress was made with simples straps

• Both dresses follow the same design

  • Invisible pockets, leg slit, and waist darts
